Please Help!

Well, this is not a blog, I just need a small help from y’all.

If anyone of you is good with gadgets or have faced this problem, please share your experiences and suggestions.

Would replacing a motherboard of a phone be a good decision? Or one should just opt for a new phone?

I’m unsure if replacing the motherboard would fix the issue and if the phone would work for long!🤔 Or would it just die in 2-3 months?

The cost of this is half of the phone’s price.😅 So not sure if its worth spending a huge amount.

Do we get a duplicate motherboard which won’t cost a lot and would bring my phone back to life even if it’s for a few days?🤔

Well, I have a lot of data in my phone which I’m unable to recover since it doesn’t work at all.😢 That’s all I want to recover. Please suggest any way to recover it.

  2. Buy a new phone, the cost will be same. Also once the original part goes off, no gadget shop, even service center gives the genuine product back, if by any chance you go to a service center, you will only find very minimal difference between buying a new gadget and getting the one replaced. Anyday go for the new gadget.

    1. Thanks for your advise, Aakash. I did check with the service center, they said they will replace the motherboard and it will work fine. So you mean even the Brand’s service center won’t put a genuine part?🤔

Do we get a duplicate MB which would fix the issue for the time being? I just want to recover my stuffs from the device.

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Yes duplicate MB is available, if you stay in Delhi or mumbai it’s more easily available in Karol Bagh in delhi, and Crawford Market and Colaba causeway in mumbai. But don’t go for those who are providing online, because since lockdown has started many people have resorted to scamming, and they do replace the mb, but it doesn’t work, and than they are not available as well. The best place to approach in nehru place in delhi, the place is famous for gadgets and repair, i could tell better if I know in which part of country you are…

        1. Haha okayy… I’m nowhere close to the places you listed.😅 I just now had edited my comment, not sure if you read that.

So you mean it’s waste to get the phone fixed from the Brand’s service center too and the phone won’t work for more than 6 months even if I decide to fix it?

          Liked by 1 person

          1. Mam,
Nowadays in every part of the country we can see gadget shops, reason being non availability of service center and gadgets are today sold like toffees…
Now service center are not available so gadget shops are their, I have had experience with both because o have used lot’s of mobiles.
Gadget shops do juggad work, certainly the thing works, but only to a certain period of time, and than we are back to square one.
In case of service center, if you go, they will charge you almost the same as the cost of your mobile, their will be a mere difference in the cost of your mobile and the service, repair work they do, for instance if the mobile costed 40k, than the service charge would be round about 37 to 38 k.
And third which was very much in picture and is booming more in lockdown are online gadget repairers.
They are actually the most reasonable one, they picture themselves to be so good that they will do the whole pick up and delivery thing at your doorstep, very feasible in today’s time, but there’s a catch, they might steal your data, also the things they use are totally duplicate, you will be again back at square one, also another high possibility is that they are in lookout. They take the mobile, than become unreachable and sell your mobile to someone new.
So in all I would suggest you, that buy a new mobile, as to your data on mobile , try connecting it with a laptop and copy the entire files their, I hope that works.

            1. Hmmm.. I did try the laptop thing, it doesn’t work at all.😅 I was so scared, I wondered if my lappy would burst.😬

My friend told me to hold this thing for now and buy a new one. He will try to find a way out for a duplicate MB once things settle down a bit.

              Liked by 1 person

              1. No the laptop won’t burst…yes your friend is right, buy a new mobile, also if possible go for 1plus, it’s very good, also it comes with an app where you can send data from one cell to another in minutes. As to retrieving data, take it to a gadget shop, only explain them that you need the data to be copied, they will do it at reasonable price, shouldn’t be charging more than 1k, besides be always available while your data is being copied, at the same time, since I don’t know which part of country you are, so do a review of the gadget shop you decide to visit…🙂🙂🙂

                1. Hmmm… Will check some way out. You know, I’ve lost 3 phones since the lockdown.🤣 I don’t know why everything had to happen together.😭😭

Anyways, thanks for your advise, Aakash. And a bigger thank you for being so patient with me. I tend to ask a hell lotta questions when confused.😬🙈

                  1. Well Mam, see I’m sorry for the loss, and I hope it doesn’t happen again. As to the questions thing, it’s good to be curious, and when you have to shell out lot’s of money , at the same time protecting your data, asking so many questions is fine, absolutely cool and that’s what should be done, I believe certain things as to today can’t be done on impulse.🙂🙂🙂, I hope you soon find a solution…

It appears your best advice comes from Aakash, Harsh, and the friend you mentioned; get a new phone, keep the old, and retrieve data later. I would only add, it may be a good idea to confer with Aakash again to see if there is a military grade, industrial strength, indestructable phone for you to purchase. Is seems you need a more durable phone.

Buy a new one. A little repairing work is okay but changing the motherboard is not advisable, even if you go to a service center. It will be too costly and I don’t think there’s any guarantee how long it will work. Duplicate motherboard also isn’t worth it. Unless it is really urgent/necessary to get the phone running.
